Mase Said He Was Trapped In His Hotel Room The Night Biggie Was Murdered Because 70 Bloods Were In The Hallway And Looking To Attack Other Bad Boy Artists
Ahhhhhh, so THAT'S why Mason Betha retired from being a rapper to become a preacher. At the time he told Funk Flex he got a "calling from God", which is what I feel like most people say when they become preachers. Actually I guess you could say that having one of your coworkers get murdered, being trapped in your hotel room as a bunch of gang members look to murder you, and then being abandoned by your people is a hell of a calling from God in itself.
You could make a case that being in the hotel room with Brandy, as Ma$e claimed years ago, is another calling from God that you are doing everything right.
But I think the fear of getting murdered during a bicoastal gang war far outweighs who you may be sharing a hotel room with. Truly terrifying shit. Nonetheless, I imagine we will be getting the inside scoop on all these old school hip hop war stories now that an arrest was made in Tupac's murder, some time has passed along with a fair amount of the people involved in the stories, and Olds like me will click on every piece of content about those wild times since these musicians were gods to us during a Golden Age of hip hop that had more hits than Ichiro and more drama than a season of the Pick'em podcast.
Now if you will excuse me, I have to go relive my quiet Suburban childhood with some of the greatest songs from that time.
